Is This Trip Right for You?

This program is minimally active and done at an easy pace. Most sightseeing requires approximately one hour walking; however, Petra is a full day of walking on various surfaces. Time spent on buses between destinations ranges from one to four hours at a time. Sightseeing in Wadi Rum is done by a 4x4 vehicle. This is a Value program. For more information, click here.

DAY 2, Wednesday - Arrive in Amman, Transfer to the Dead Sea
Arrive in Amman, capital of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan; transfer directly to your hotel at the Dead Sea. Spend the rest of the day at leisure to rest, relax and adjust to your new exotic surroundings

DAY 3, Thursday - Full Day in the Dead Sea
The day is yours to enjoy all of the delights and countless pleasures of the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth. Swim in the therapeutic waters and sample the Dead Sea’s renowned restorative powers. Pamper yourself with fabulous treatments, or just savor the beautiful surroundings and natural beauty of this area. Alternatively, take part in an optional tour of the Ma’in Hot Springs, public waterfalls located in a breathtaking desert oasis. The water is heated by underground lava fissures as it makes its way through the valley before emptying into the Zarqa River

DAY 4, Friday - Bethany, Petra
After breakfast, travel towards Petra. En route stop at the village of Bethany, the site of Jesus' baptism by John the Baptist. As it was also where the prophet Elijah ascended to heaven via a chariot of fire. The sites that make up Bethany were part of early Christian pilgrimages between Mt. Nebo and Jerusalem. Arrive in Petra and enjoy an orientation meeting with your Tour Manager and fellow travelers

DAY 5, Saturday - Full Day in Petra
Today, spend your day at leisure or, join the optional Petra tour. Enter the "rose red" city hand-sculpted from a mountain range by the Nabateans in the 3rd century BC. Begin your walk (or ride) through the "Siq", a winding canyon road. View Petra’s most extraordinary monument - the towering Treasury building rising over 140 feet. Discover soaring temples, elaborate royal tombs, a theatre, and burial champers - all remnants of a once great Nabatean culture. In the afternoon perhaps join the optional Wadi Rum Jeep Safari. Ride in a 4x4 vehicle to explore Wadi Rum, with its looming rock faces and huge red sand dunes. Enjoy a breathtaking sunset over Wadi Rum before driving back to Petra

DAY 6, Sunday - Madaba and Mount Nebo
After breakfast, travel to Amman. En route, visit the mosaic city of Madaba, where an ancient map of the Holy Land is set into the floor of Saint George's Church. Continue with a visit to Mount Nebo, the reputed burial site of Moses, overlooking the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea. Afterward, arrive in Amman the capital of the Kingdom of Jordan. Often referred to as the "White City" because of the white stone used to build the houses, Amman is among the oldest continually inhabited cities in the world

DAY 7, Monday - Full Day in Amman
Enjoy your last day in Jordan at leisure or, join the optional tour to Jerash. Travel north of Amman to the city of Jerash, the best preserved example of Roman civilization in Jordan. Jerash, was part of the Decapolis (the ten large Roman cities of the East) The city features theaters, churches, temples of Zeus and Artemis, a Nymphaeum and colonnaded street. In the afternoon you have the choice to attend an optional tour of Amman. Visit the Amman Citadel in the city center, followed by a trip to the Archaeological Museum. Continue to the Roman Amphitheater, one of the largest in the Middle East. Finally, experience the heart of the city center by browsing in the downtown markets

Thousands of visiting bathers come each year to enjoy the mineral-rich waters of these hyper-thermal waterfalls. These falls originate from winter rainfalls in the highland plains of Jordan and eventually feed the 109 hot and cold springs in the valley. This water is heated to temperatures of up to 63 degrees Celsius by underground lava fissures as it makes its way through the valley before emptying into the Zarqa River.
