Drivers must be at least 21 years old to rent a vehicle. Additionally, drivers must be 25 years old in order to rent a Full Size vehicle (FDAR and FVMR). A valid drivers license issued a minimum of 12 months prior to rental along with an international driving permit is required for all renters. There is a maximum age of 79 years old for all car types.
The lead passenger will be the listed as the driver of the vehicle. Additional drivers may be added for an additional cost at the time of vehicle pickup.
Passengers traveling abroad require a passport valid for six months beyond their travel dates. All travelers are responsible to check if a visa is required for all countries on their itinerary. For visa information,

DAY 3, Friday - Sintra, Cabo da Roca Today, head to quaint Sintra, the “Glorious Eden” of Lord Byron, and ancient summer retreat of the royal court, highlighted by lavish romantic castles and stunning monuments. Visit the Sintra Royal Palace, a 15th century royal residence, containing magnificent azulejos - ceramic tiles, including some authentic Mudéjar Azulejos with Moorish geometric motifs. Continue with another former royal residence, the Pena Palace, built in the 19th century by King Ferdinand II. The castle is Inspired by German Romantic architecture with a blend of Moorish and Manueline styles. Its dramatic interiors are designed to reflect influences from the Middle East and European Baroque. Afterward, drive to Cabo da Roca, a rugged headland that marks the westernmost point of mainland Europe. Don't forget to obtain the document from the tourism office certifying your visit. DAY 4, Saturday - Drive to Medieval Évora, Continue to Lagos Drive to Évora, one of Portugal’s most beautifully preserved medieval towns and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Discover the town's 14th century massive walls and Roman Temple, early Gothic Cathedral, and Sao Francisco Church that is famous for its Chapel of Bones, whose walls are decorated with thousands of human bones and skulls. Head on to see Évora’s main square, the Praça do Giraldo, lined with exquisite examples of 16th century Gothic architecture. Stroll along the winding cobbled lanes and view traditionally painted houses. DAY 5, Sunday - Discover Lagos and Silves This morning, discover Lagos, a historic town that has been home to the Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Romans and Moors all attracted by its harbor. It was from here that Vasco da Gama set sail when he discovered Brazil. Walk along the alleys of the walled Old Town and afterward visit the authentic Mercado Municipal (City Market). Continue to the charming fort of Ponta da Bandeira, built in the 17th century. The complex provides stunning panoramic views of the town and includes a beautiful chapel of Santa Barbara, covered with azulejos tiles. Later, drive to the nearby fortified town of Silves, the former capital of the Algarve. Here, visit the imposing Silves Castle, also known as the "red fortress" because of its color, located on top of the hill, overlooking the town. Built between the 8th and the 10th century by the Moors, it is considered the best preserved Moorish castle in Portugal. DAY 6, Monday - Explore Lisbon This morning, depart Lagos and drive north to Lisbon, one of the oldest cities in Europe, over 2,000 years old, and capital of Portugal since 1147. View the treasured 16th century Belem Tower, a monument to Portugal’s Age of Discovery. Continue to visit the Jeronimos Monastery, an impressive symbol of the country’s power and wealth and resting place of explorer Vasco da Gama. Afterward, take a walk along the winding cobblestone streets to Alfama, the old Fisherman’s Quarter, nestled between the Grand Castle and the River Tagus. Tour the imposing St. George's Castle, perched on a hilltop overlooking the historic centre of Lisbon. Perhaps, ride the Santa Justa elevator and ascend to the Bairro Alto district from where you can enjoy panoramic views of the city and the river.
