Visit the famed Guinness Storehouse, where you might want to try a sampling of the brew. You can pull your own pint here in the Dublin tradition and browse the award-winning multimedia exhibits about Guinness - the city's best known export. At Trinity College, you can view the 8th century Book of Kells, a superb example of early Irish manuscript illumination that is on display in the Old Library. Wander leisurely along Temple Bar with its charming narrow cobbled streets and O'Connell Street, the city's main thoroughfare, home to the "Spire", the world's tallest piece of sculpture. DAY 4 - Drive to Belfast
Today, we suggest a drive into Northern Ireland to the energetic city of Belfast with its rich history, architecture and culture. The city rests at the mouth of the River Lagan and on the western shores of Belfast Lough; to the northwest, mountains rise to the Antrim Plateau. This lovely setting has given the city a microclimate that nurtures its green spaces. Its location on calm waters has also made it ideal for shipbuilding. The colonnaded façade and towering dome of the Edwardian City Hall is a good place to begin your exploration. Visit the newly renovated Ulster Museum,** a repository of historic and artistic treasures before continuing to the impressive Titanic Experience Museum, in the dockyard where the doomed ship was built. The museum has nine galleries spread over six floors telling the story from "rivets to requiem"
**Open daily except Mondays
Drive Time: 4 hours*
Distance: 220 miles*
Overnight: County Meath

DAY 5 - Newgrange, Drive to Malahide Castle
Spend leisure time in the castle area, or, perhaps discover the mysterious burial mounds at Newgrange in County Meath, built along a bend of the River Boyne. This passage tomb, which some say was an ancient temple, was constructed over 5,000 years ago (3200 B.C.) making it older than Stonehenge in England and the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt. The area has been designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Following this visit, perhaps head to the scenic coastal town of Malahide, with its newly restored historic castle and unique walled garden with exotic species of plants from all over the world. In the picturesque village and marina, you'll find a diverse selection of boutiques, bars and restaurants, all within a stone's throw from the castle grounds. You can end the day in nearby Howth - try the fresh-caught fish or a pint of Guinness in one or the many restaurants

DAY 6 - Wicklow Mountains National Park
Today perhaps enjoy a drive to Glendalough "The Valley of Two Lakes", home to an impressive 98-foot Round Tower, one of the most important monastic sites in Ireland. This early Christian monastic settlement was founded by St. Kevin in the 6th century and from this developed the “Monastic City”. Next, drive through Wicklow Mountains National Park for a glimpse into Ireland's wild side. The lush scenery and placid lakes are delicately wound through hills and valleys offering gorgeous views. Maybe stop to take a walk on one of the many trails in the area, including The Wicklow Way
Drive Time: 2 hours*
Distance: 80 miles*
Overnight: County Meath

DAY 7 - Drive to Dublin
Return back to Dublin. The rich literary heritage of Dublin is always present in the Irish capital. As you stroll along the Grand Canal, see the statue of poet Patrick Kavanagh, and along Merrion Square is the childhood home of Oscar Wilde. Visit the Dublin Writers Museum, a restored Georgian mansion, with displays of Samuel Beckett's first editions and personal letters written by W.B. Yeats. As you walk on O'Connell Street, stop at the statue of James Joyce. Continue to the impressive National Library, home to an interactive exhibit on the life and times of Nobel Prize winning poet W.B. Yeats. Finish your walk at the famous Davy Byrne's Pub, mentioned in the works of James Joyce. No visit to Dublin is complete without a stop at the National Gallery, to view the significant collection of Irish and European art. At the end of the day, drive through Phoenix Park, the largest enclosed city park in Europe. This urban park is the official residence of the President, Dublin Zoo and Ratra House, boyhood home of Winston Churchill.
