DAY 3 , Friday - Belgrade City Tour
Today's sightseeing of historic Belgrade begins at the daunting Kalemegdan Fortress, dramatically perched above the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers. Built in stages between the 1st and 18th centuries, this fortress witnessed major defensive battles. View the colorful surrounding park before continuing to Slavija and Republic Squares, bustling Knez Mihailova Street, the imposing Saint Sava Temple, one of the largest Orthodox churches in the world and the Memorial to the late Marshal Tito, leader of Yugoslavia for over 40 years, resting within an encircled flower garden. Time this afternoon on your own. Perhaps revisit the Old Bohemian Quarter of Skadarlija, frequently compared to Montmartre in Paris, both in appearance as well as in its artistic atmosphere

DAY 4, Saturday - Visit Montenegro en route to Dubrovnik
This morning take a short flight to Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro. Continue by motor coach to Cetinje, the country’s historical capital, set at the foot of Mount Lovcen. Visit the Cetinje Museum, a four-sectioned historical complex with its displays dedicated to Montenegro’s history. Then take a spectacular steep road down to the Bay of Kotor, the deepest fjord in Southern Europe. Finally head into Croatia and continue to Dubrovnik

DAY 5, Sunday - Dubrovnik City Tour
In the morning, tour Old Dubrovnik on foot. This magnificent Old Town, with its treasure of Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque churches, monasteries and palaces is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During the walking tour, visit the Rector's Palace, an outstanding blend of Gothic and Renaissance architecture and view the monumental Sponza Palace, one of the most beautiful palaces in the city, preserved in its original form. Under the City Bell Tower view Orlando's Tower, dedicated to the legendary Knight that saved the city in the 9th century. Then on to view the Dominican Monastery and Franciscan Monastery with its Pharmacy. Visit the Pharmacy, one of the oldest in the world still in use today. The rest of the day is at leisure. Perhaps spend time strolling along the impressive ramparts overlooking the shimmering Adriatic Sea, or visit the Maritime Museum in St. John's Castle. Don't miss tonight's optional boat ride around the Old City walls to St. Jakov Beach followed by a traditional Croatian dinner with Dalmatian wine along with spectacular views of the night-lit city

DAY 6 , Monday - Split City Tour
Depart Dubrovnik and travel north along the dramatic Adriatic coast to the UNESCO protected seaside town of Split, the second largest city in Croatia. Upon arrival, a walking tour along the cobbled streets of the Old Town features the historic inner city with its dominating Roman influence, built around the 4th century Palace of Diocletian. This spectacular palace, a precious example of Roman architecture, is one of the largest and best preserved in the world. See the remains of the Cathedral of St. Domnius built in the Middle Ages, and the Temple of Jupiter with its headless black sphinx guarding the entrance. Spend the remainder of the day discovering the town independently, or take a leisurely stroll along the scenic waterfront promenade. In the evening, enjoy dinner together

DAY 7, Tuesday - Plitvice Lakes
Travel north to historic Trogir, founded by the Greeks in 400 BC. Here, admire the three-naved 13th century Venetian Cathedral of St. Lovro, one of the finest architectural works in Croatia, and the stunning Cipiko Palace. A center of artistic activities, scholars came from around the world to Trogir to study and paint. Continue inland towards Plitvice Lakes National Park, a wonderland of 16 interconnecting lakes, flanked by thundering waterfalls and a huge primeval forest. This area, known as a geological and hydrological phenomenon, is celebrated as one of the most beautiful natural sights in Europe, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Arrive in the town of Plitvice for dinner and overnight

DAY 8, Wednesday - Visit to Postojna Caves
Today, return to the coast and travel along the striking Bay of Kvarner to the remarkable seaside resort of Opatija, a gem of Croatia’s Adriatic coast, with its rich history and picturesque surroundings. Enjoy an orientation tour of Opatija exploring the highlights of this former Imperial resort city. Time to enjoy the pleasures of this area before journeying north to the Postojna Caves in Slovenia, a network of passages, galleries and chambers. This is the largest and the most visited show cave in Europe. Travel aboard the specially designed cave train with electric lighting that allows you to observe the splendor of the underground world, where the geological past is recorded in a unique manner. You’ll be dazzled by the stalactites and stalagmites in a variety of shapes, and colors. Afterwards, continue towards the Julian Alps and into Bled

DAY 9, Thursday - Bled City Tour
Morning sightseeing includes a visit to Bled Castle, located on a cliff high above the lake. The balance of the day is at leisure or join the optional tour to Lakes Bled and Bohinj. Enjoy a scenic ride to the island in the middle of the lake Bled. After disembarking the boat, visit the island's old church housing an impressive art collection. Later, the boat will bring you back ashore and you will continue by motor coach to another Alpine lake resort - Bohinj, beautifully incorporated amidst the dense woods and spectacular mountains. DAY 10, Friday - Walking Tour of Ljubljana
Travel to Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, for a visit to the open-air market, City Hall, Robba Fountain, and the Three Bridges. Continue to Zagreb, capital of Croatia

DAY 11, Saturday - Zagreb City Tour
Begin the day in busy Kaptol Square in Upper Town, dominated by the monumental Zagreb Cathedral, with its soaring twin spires, its cobblestone streets and red tile roofed buildings. Walk along Kravi Most, to St. Mark’s Church with its brightly colored roof and the 17th century Jesuit Church of St. Catherine. After a stop at the Parliament building, free time to explore the winding streets of the Old Town and Ban Jelacic, the main square. Or take a leisurely stroll along Ilica Street, packed with restaurants, trendy cafes and a vibrant shopping scene. The optional evening tour to Kumrovec starts with a scenic drive to Kumrovec, birthplace of the late Marshal Tito. Visit the Ethnological Museum’s restored village houses from the turn of the 19th century. Later, follow a winding road through the Zagorje Hills to a charming farm restaurant for a dinner of local specialties and wine, plus stunning views of Veliki Tabor Castle

Optional Tours

Sv.Jakov (St.James) beach in Dubrovnik is one of the most beautiful beaches in the area. A motor boat ride will take you around the Old City walls to St. Jakov Beach, where you will enjoy a three course dinner and Dalmatian wine. After dinner return to the Old City Port. Enjoy a glimpse of Dubrovnik by night before boarding your bus at Pile Gate to return to the hotel. Boat ride depends on weather conditions.

Bled with its surroundings of natural beauty, is a jewel among the Alpine resorts. Enjoy a scenic ride on a unique small rowing boat called a "Pletna," to the island in the middle of the lake. After disembarking the boat, visit the island's old church housing an impressive art collection. You'll have some free time to enjoy the magnificent views from the island. Later, the boat will bring you back ashore and you will continue by motor coach to another Alpine lake resort – Bohinj, beautifully incorporated amidst the dense woods and spectacular mountains. The journey will take you through some very old typical Slovenian villages with gorgeous landscape. Your excursion will end later in the afternoon.

Lake Bled & Lake Bohinj Thumbnail

A short yet scenic drive will take you to Kumrovec, situated on the bank of the river Sutla, along the Croatian-Slovenian border. Kumrovec's fame is that it was the birthplace of the late marshal Tito, the president of former Yugoslavia, whose house has since been turned into a museum. Today, the major attraction of Kumrovec is the Ethnological Museum Staro Selo (Old Village) with very well preserved village houses from the turn of the 19th and the 20th centuries. Up to forty houses and other farmstead facilities have been restored, which makes Staro Selo the most attractive place of this kind in Croatia. Later, follow a winding road through the Zagorje hills. An early dinner of genuine local specialties and wine is served at the farm restaurant Gresna Gorica (The Hill of Sin) with magnificent views of the 15th century castle Veliki Tabor.
