DAY 2, Friday - Arrive in Tivat, Transfer to Dubrovnik in Croatia
Arrive in Tivat, Montenegro and transfer to Dubrovnik, Croatia's magical city on the shimmering Adriatic Sea. After checking into the hotel, the rest of the day is yours to get acquainted with this spectacular city. Tonight, meet your Tour Manager for a briefing on the delightful tour of Croatia and Slovenia that lies ahead, followed by a Welcome Reception and Dinner with your fellow travelers

DAY 3, Saturday - Tour Dubrovnik
The day begins with dramatic views of monumental Fort of St. Lawrence dominating and protecting both the sea and land entrance to Kalarinja, Dubrovnik's oldest harbor. A morning walking tour in Dubrovnik's historic Old Town, with its dramatic centuries-old walls, reveals the city's treasures. See the Franciscan Monastery housing the world's oldest and still functioning pharmacy, continuing along the main pedestrian way to the monumental Sponza Palace, home of the state archives. Pass the City Bell Tower on the way to the Rector's Palace, an outstanding blend of Gothic and Renaissance architecture, Orlando's Column and the Church of St. Blaise, the city's patron saint. Stop at the magnificent circular Onofrio's Fountain, with its gurgling clean water, a great spot to cool off. The rest of the day is yours to wander the never-ending lanes of the Old Town, or perhaps even be adventurous and walk atop the city walls

DAY 4, Sunday - Full Day in Dubrovnik
A full day to independently explore extraordinary Dubrovnik, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Or, join the optional tour to Mostar to learn about the many fascinating cultures and religions that have left a trace on this city. Scenic drives along the coast take you to this city that was once an important trade center under Turkish rule. Visit to the old bazaar, the Turkish House and views of the historic 16th century arched stone bridge. After a walking tour and lunch at a local restaurant, return to Dubrovnik. Tonight, don't miss some of Dubrovnik's fabulous restaurants and cafes

DAY 5, Monday - Highlights of Split
Travel north along the Adriatic past charming old fishing villages to Split, Croatia’s largest coastal city. A walking tour along the cobbled streets of the Old Town takes you to the historic inner city built around the astonishing 4th century Palace of Diocletian, a UNESCO World Heritage Site; tour the best preserved and largest antique palace in the world. Then, view remnants of Split's Roman heritage, its Renaissance and Gothic structures, the unusual Cathedral of St. Domnius built in the Middle Ages and the Temple of Jupiter, with its headless black sphinx guarding the entrance. Tonight, enjoy your time at leisure

DAY 6, Tuesday - Historic Zadar, Opatija on the Sea
The journey continues to Zadar, one of the oldest cities on the Adriatic. In the city center, view the 16th century defensive walls built by the Venetians with a port gate flanked by Venetian lions that still guard the entrance. Visit the square with its unique cisterns and the iconic Church of St. Donat, one of the best examples of Byzantine architecture in Dalmatia. Zadar is a great combination of Roman architecture, Habsburg elegance and a picture-perfect seafront lined with superb cafes and restaurants. Then, travel to the pretty seaside resort city of Opatija for an orientation drive through the city followed by a walk along the famous "Lungomare" coastal promenade that stretches for miles

DAY 7, Wednesday - Full Day in Opatija
A full day at leisure to enjoy the pleasures of Opatija independently, with its beautiful foliage and magnificent villas that are superb examples of Belle Époque architecture. Perhaps join the optional tour of the Istrian Peninsula that begins in Pula, a strategic port since Roman times with a preserved amphitheater. Known for its unspoiled natural surroundings, Pula has a long tradition of winemaking and shipbuilding. Then, on to the beautiful resort of Rovinj, a delightful fishing port and historic Old Town. Time on your own before returning to Opatija. Tonight, explore the charming town with its wealth of fine seafood restaurants

DAY 8, Thursday - Slovenia's Capital of Ljubljana, Exquisite Bled
A scenic drive today to Ljubljana, Slovenia’s charming capital. View Ljubljana Castle towering over the city before entering the pedestrianized Old Town with its unique mixture of Baroque and Art Nouveau architecture. Stop at the lively open-air Central Market, Three Bridges Square and the Town Hall accented by Robba Fountain, a landmark replica of a grand fountain in Rome. The journey continues to the spectacular city of Bled, exquisitely set amidst the Julian Alps. The rest of the day is at leisure to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Tonight, join your fellow travelers for an optional dinner at a traditional Country Inn in the tiny medieval town of Radovljica that includes choices of Slovenian favorites along with wine and live music

DAY 9, Friday - Resort City of Bled
Surrounded by high peaks, Bled has enticed travelers since the mid-19th century for its pure air, magnificent scenery and healing thermal springs. Today, Bled is a sparkling all-seasons resort with delightful hotels, villas and restaurants nestled on the lakefront. A tour through this charming town continues along the shores of the lake before ascending to imposing Bled Castle, perched on a cliff with soaring views. Enjoy the rest of the day exploring this stunning city. Tonight, a festive Farewell Dinner at a popular restaurant with your newfound friends

Optional Tours

Depart Dubrovnik and head north, to the bucolic village of Orašac. Here, visit the Dubelj family home, a rustic estate where things are still done the old-fashioned way. The owner will show you the traditional method of making olive oil, using a horse-driven mill. Afterwards, taste local cheese along with Dalmatian prosciutto and exchange views with your host family over a traditional three course meal. An unforgettable experience!

Depart Dubrovnik and drive along the coast to the town of Neum. Enjoy the countryside as you turn inland through the karst and mountainous areas of Herzegovina. A short break above the Deransko lake is followed by a drive along the Neretva river valley. Arrive in Mostar, a city in southern Bosnia & Herzegovina that is immersed in history and is known as the melting pot of cultures. During the Turkish rule, the city was an important trade center. A guided walking tour will introduce you to the city’s highlights, such as the old bazaar, historical mosques, the Turkish House and the famous 16th-century arched stone bridge. Afterwards, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Perhaps try cevapcici, a traditional dish made of minced meat. Return to Dubrovnik in the afternoon.
