DAY 2, Friday - Arrive in Ho Chi Minh
Arrive in Ho Chi Minh and transfer to your hotel. The balance of the day is at leisure

DAY 3, Saturday - Ho Chi Minh City Tour
This morning, enjoy time at leisure to explore Ho Chi Minh at your own pace. This afternoon, a guided tour of Ho Chi Minh includes the neo-Romanesque Notre Dame Cathedral, the French-style Central Post Office, City Hall, and the Opera House. From here, visit Ben Thanh Market. Continue to Dong Khoi Street, a main shopping street in the center of Ho Chi Minh and known as Rue Catinet during the French years

DAY 4, Sunday - Hoi An City Tour, Flight to Da Nang
This morning, transfer to the airport for your flight to Da Nang. Travel south from Da Nang to Hoi An. Arrive in Hoi An and enjoy an afternoon walking tour of the riverside town, which was formerly one of Southeast Asia's leading trading ports in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. Visit the 17th-century Phuoc Kien Pagoda, the Japanese Covered Bridge (constructed in 1593) and the Ancient House. Afterward, visit a famous Vietnamese silk embroidery workshop

DAY 5, Monday - Full Day in Hoi An
Spend a full day at leisure exploring Hoi An independently. Enjoy the Old City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and visit one of the city's many museums, or visit a handicraft workshop to see artisans using age-old techniques to fashion a variety of interesting goods. Of special note are the colorful and elaborate paper lanterns

DAY 6, Tuesday - Travel to Hue, Hue Imperial City Tour
This morning travel from Hoi An to Hue. Journey along the coast with spectacular views of the bowl-shaped Da Nang Bay with famous Marble Mountains where we stop to see a stone carving village. The village is well-known all over Vietnam for it’s sophisticated marble products made by hands. Continue driving along a mountainous stretch of highway 1 with so many great photo opportunities. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. This afternoon, enjoy a tour of the Old Imperial City, located in the Citadel. Erected in the early 19th century, the Old Imperial City was modeled after the Forbidden City in Beijing, and is home to a wealth of palaces and temples, as well as a library and a museum. Your tour includes visits to the Ngo Mon Gate, the principal entrance to the Imperial Enclosure and the central passageway reserved for use by the Emperor. Continue to the Thai Hoa Palace with its spacious hall and ornamental roof, the Halls of the Mandarins, the Nine Dynastic Urns, cast in 1835, and the ruins of the Forbidden Purple City

DAY 7, Wednesday - Full Day in Hue
Enjoy a full day at leisure to explore Hue independently. A city of extraordinary beauty situated on the Perfume River, two of Hue's most prominent attractions are the Tombs of the Emperors and the Thien Mu Pagoda. Also not to be missed is the opportunity to taste some of Hue's famed Imperial cuisine, refined culinary specialties once served to the emperor and his court

DAY 8, Thursday - Flight to Hanoi, Sightseeing en route to Halong Bay
This morning, transfer to the airport for your flight to Hanoi. Upon arrival in Hanoi, travel east to Halong, enjoy seeing the farmland along the way. Visit to Humanity Center, before continuing on to Halong Bay. After arriving in Halong Bay, transfer to your hotel

DAY 9, Friday - Halong Bay City Tour, Travel to Hanoi
Enjoy a morning boat excursion by traditional wooden boat through Halong Bay. "Dragon descending to the sea," as the Bay is known in Vietnamese, features more than 1,000 limestone islets (small islands), many of which contain beautiful grottoes. Visit one of the caves at Hang Dau Go (Wooden Stakes Cave), Bo Nau or Thien Cung. The caves, which are said to have direct ties to the ancient war history of Vietnam, are known for the many colorful stalagmite and stalactite deposits adorning their inner and outer chambers. Weather permitting you might be able to swim as well as visit fisherman rafts in the Bay. Lunch served on board. Continue to Hanoi in the afternoon and check in to your hotel

DAY 10, Saturday - Hanoi City Tour & Evening Water Puppet Show
Today, enjoy visits to Hoan Kiem Lake, the Old Quarter, and the Museum of Ethnology, which is the center for the preservation and exhibition of cultural heritage for the 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam. In the evening, enjoy a Water Puppet Show, accompanied by a traditional Vietnamese orchestra and Cheo (a form of opera), on Hoan Kiem Lake. The show depicts a series of ancient Vietnamese folktales which are acted out by puppets over a pool of water

DAY 11, Sunday - Full Day in Hanoi

Half Day Cu Chi TunnelsDay #3 01 Jul 2013 - 30 Jun 2014           $39
Half Day Cu Chi Tunnels The Cu Chi tunnels were part of a underground tunnel network built by the Viet Cong to control a large rural area near Saigon. The tunnels were first used during the French/Vietnamese War (1946-1954 and later used by the Viet Cong as a base of operation during the 1968 Tet offensive. The Cu Chi network includes 125 miles of tunnels comprising a main axis system with many branches connecting to underground hideouts, weapon factories, hospitals, shelters and other tunnels. The entire structure was dug out of the rock by hand tools without the use of cement. On this tour you will learn about the tunnels and aspects of the war. You will have and an opportunity for a brief view of life underground as you enter areas enlarged to create easier access for visitors. The majority of the tour will be above the tunnels. Please note that this tour will be given from a Vietnamese perspective based on past wars with France and the United States. If you are uncomfortable with or do not care to hear this discussion, then we recommend you do not participate.

Boat Trip on the Thu Bon River & Organic Village with lunch This morning, start from a local pier in the Old Town, cruising down streams passing many fishing areas before arriving into small canals between coconut trees. Going along the 200 meters canal, then out to the main river. Along Cai River visit to Kim Bong village which is the home of traditional woodworking and boat-building families. Return to mainland, drive to Traque Organic Village for lunch. Here you will have an opportunity to interact with local farmers and learn about the various vegetables and herbs that are organically grown here to support the people of Hoi An. Walk through the gardens and see how, even today, local farmers work their fields using the traditional methods of hundreds of years ago. You will also get a culinary lesson on the traditional ways of preparing and cooking Vietnamese food and a local specialty called Banh-xeo. Once the lesson is over, enjoy the food you have helped prepare.

Cyclo Ride with Dinner at the Citadel Enjoy a panoramic view of both the daily life, and architecture, of Hue with a tour via Cyclo, a common mode of transportation in Vietnam. Your ride will first take you through the French quarter to admire the charming French villas. You will also pass by the school where former presidents Ho Chi Minh and Ngo Dinh Diem, as well as Vo Nguyen Giap - a prominent Vietnamese politician - were educated. Continue by the market before arriving to the former Royal Palace. You will then proceed to a family-run restaurant whose owner is the descendant of a high ranking Mandarin Official, and thus considered a master of Royal cuisine. You will enjoy a multiple course dinner in which every single dish will be beautifully presented in the shape of a peacock, dragon or turtle -- the same as a Royal feast was presented to the Royal family of the past.

Boat Trip on the Perfume River with Tu Duc & Khai Dinh with lunch Enjoy a boat trip on the Perfume River with a stop on Hen islet to learn about the daily life of local people in one of the most traditional parts in the North Central Vietnam. Continue to Thien Mu Pagoda and then drive to Tomb of Emperor Tu Duc, the final resting place of Vietnam’s longest reigning emperor, set among forested hills and lakes. Lastly, proceed to Khai Dinh, the last monument of the Nguyen dynasty. Vegetarian lunch prepared by Buddhist nuns of Dong Thien Pagoda (L).

Thay Pagoda & So Village with lunch Enjoy a stunning Thay Pagoda, the Master's Pagoda, located at the foot of Sai Son Mountain. Here you will also have the chance to see Thuy Dinh Stage, means Water Palace on Long Tri pond, where the ancient form of water puppet is performed. From here, continue to So Village which is the well preserved village of North Vietnam. Walk around the village to see the traditional layout of village with small alleys in between houses. Interact with villagers who earn their living from making noodles, tofu and wool knitting. Stop to visit one of the most impressive communal house – a village’s worshiping center in all of Vietnam.
