Day 1: Depart USA
Depart the USA on your scheduled flight arriving at the airport in Lima (LIM) late that evening.
Upon arrival at the airport a host will meet you, transfer you to the hotel and assist you with hotel check in.
Accommodation in Lima
Day 2: Lima
Breakfast at the hotel.
Free day to explore Lima at your leisure.
You can choose sightseeing tours and excursions as you go through the booking process.

Day 3: Lima - Iquitos - Explorama Lodge
Breakfast at the hotel.
A driver will meet you in the lobby of your hotel for your transfer to the airport for your flight to Iquitos (IQT).
Reception at the airport, brief city orientation and transfer to the Explorama dock. Fifty mile journey down the Amazon River to Yanamono Stream to the Explorama Lodge.
Lunch at the lodge.
Afternoon hike along the "Lake Trail" through lowland rainforest which is seasonally flooded. During the high water season, this excursion is done by open boat!
Dinner at the lodge.
Night walk or open boat ride to enjoy the sounds of the rainforest and stars of the southern sky.

Day 4: Explorama Lodge
Breakfast at the lodge.
Morning walk along the "Bushmaster Trail", where scientific studies by the Missouri Botanical Gardens have found the world's highest biodiversity of trees per square hectare. Your guide will point out many plants used in medicine today and many that we may use in the future.
Lunch at the lodge.
Afternoon open boat trip along the Amazon in search of either of the two species of freshwater dolphin found in the river and a chance for an afternoon swim.

Day 5: Explorama Lodge - Lima
Breakfast at the lodge.
Morning walk along a local river trail with stops along the way to visit the "ribereņos" or river people, visit a river school, see the local sugar cane rum "factory" or visit our resident American medical doctor in her clinic sponsored by the Rotary Club.
Lunch at the lodge (if departure time permits).
Transfer back to Iquitos for your flight to Lima.
You will arrive at the Lima airport in the late afternoon to connect with your flight home. Most flights to the USA leave after midnight so you may want to add a Day Room with Transfers which provides a hotel room and transportation to and from the airport. (B)
Day 6: Lima - USA
Early morning departure from Lima back to the USA.

Notes:
Space is limited and your desired travel dates may not be available if you wait, so book early to avoid disappointment. We highly recommend 2nd and 3rd choices for travel dates and/or accommodations.
Passport Requirements:
It is the sole responsibility of each passenger to obtain the necessary documents for travel, not excluding passports and visas. A valid passport is normally the only requirement for U.S. citizens. Visa requirements do change without notice and vary by nationality. Please check with the consulate office of the destination country as to visa requirements.
South America Departure Tax:
Upon departure in local currency or USD (cash only) the amount of $20 - 35 in some countries is required (amounts may vary daily based on currency fluctuations). Aircraft boarding will be denied to any passenger who fails to pay this tax which is collected after check-in and prior to boarding by Federal Airport staff. Full payment due within 1 day of booking by 2pm.

Passport information required for Peru:
Your full passport information is required to issue flight and train tickets. In addition, some services and lodges require notification of your food restrictions and allergies for confirmation.
Restrictions:
Prices are per person based on double occupancy and a 21-day advance purchase. Purchases within 21 days will incur additional fees. Air carrier used in the package is based on gateway and availability at time of booking and multiple flights connections may be necessary. Flight departure times may be at any time on your requested departure day. Surcharges up to $50 per person each way may apply for travel Thursday through Monday depending on travel dates. Air taxes/Government-imposed fees/surcharges are excluded. These fees are in addition to the package prices and will be added to invoice. Travel is valid for these dates only. Certain other restrictions may apply, and offer is subject to change without notice. No request will be processed until full payment is received. Once submitted your request can take at least 24 hours to confirm. 2nd and 3rd choices for travel dates are highly recommended.
