This tour will provide glorious hilltop views and secret wooded valleys. Every few miles takes you through another picture postcard village of mellow stone cottages or past a handsome manor house. The routes also visit the small towns of Stow on the Wold and Upper and Lower Slaughter and enjoy the wonderful views across the Oxfordshire wolds.

    Day 1: Cheltenham

  • Enter Individual arrival to your hotel in Cheltenham with time to explore this Regency Spa town. Overnight Cheltenham.

    • Day 2: A transfer to Chedworth Roman Villa (closed Mondays)

  • The beautiful pastures and woods along the banks of the little River Coln are the setting for this, the best exposed Roman villa in the country. The handsome little market town of Northleach provides an excellent introduction to this countryside. Its large 15th century 'wool' church, built by the wealthy merchants, is typical of the Cotswold style while the Heritage Centre gives a fascinating insight into traditional farming life. The walk follows the Monarchs Way through unspoilt hamlets and over rolling country to Bourton in the valley of the River Windrush. Overnight Bourton-on-the-Water.

    • Day 3: Enter Day overview Here

  • Today you may wander along several ancient bridleways and glimpse the lovely old villages of Great and Little Rissington. Listen and you may hear the larks singing and sometimes see deer, the occasional hare or rabbit and many pheasants. Or walk over typical Cotswold pasture land crossing the Rivers Dikler and Eye. Visit the pretty Cotswold villages of Upper and Lower Slaughter. The village is among the most picturesque with its little bridges, cottages and water mill undergoing restoration.     • Day 4: Bourton to Cheltenham

  • Tour ends after breakfast. Transfer back to Cheltenham.
