    Today visit the spectacular Cinque Terre, one of the most beautiful areas of the Liguria region.     Depart Montecatini via motor coach for Sorrento, a charming coastal town overlooking the Bay of Naples. Continue along the "Sun Route," passing the famous Montecassino Abbey, and enjoy the stunning panorama of the Sorrentine coast. On the way stop in Pompeii. Visit the ruins of this best preserved Roman city, including the Temples of Apollo and Jupiter, and the Forum. Continue to Sorrento

    DAY 9, Thursday - Visit Royal Palace of Caserta En Route to Rome
    Depart Sorrento and head to Caserta, near Naples. Visit the Royal Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and former residence of the Bourbon Kings of Naples, also called the ‘Versailles of the Campania region’. Then continue your journey north, passing by the famous Monte Cassino Abbey, founded by St. Benedict of Norcia in 529. Destroyed on four separate occasions, it was last rebuilt after being the site of fierce fighting during the Second World War. Arrive in Rome and enjoy an evening at leisure

    Today begins with the visit to the Vatican Museums and Michelangelo's breathtaking Sistine Chapel. This highly-finished marble sculpture depicts the body of Jesus in the arms of Mary after the Crucifixion and is considered to be among the most compelling of all works of art in the Western world.     Today, arrive in Messina at 10:00 am. Messina, located just three miles from the Italian mainland, is one of the oldest and culturally rich ports in Sicily. Although the town suffered an earthquake in 1908, the city has been rebuilt and refurbished, creating an interesting blend of traditional and modern architecture. See the world's largest astronomical clock in the Piazza del Duomo along with the town's main cathedral, first constructed in 1160, or make a wish by tossing a coin in the Fontana di Orione. Set sail for Turkey at 7 pm

View the many historic buildings that blend Venetian, Turkish, and Greek architecture. Perhaps visit the ancient city of Aptera, built around 700 BC, or the Firkas Fort, constructed in 1629 and today houses the Maritime Museum of Crete which offers astounding views of the harbor below.
