    Today visit the spectacular Cinque Terre, one of the most beautiful areas of the Liguria region. Visit the ruins of this best preserved Roman city, including the Temples of Apollo and Jupiter, and the Forum. Continue to Sorrento

    DAY 9, Thursday - Visit Royal Palace of Caserta En Route to Rome
    Depart Sorrento and head to Caserta, near Naples. Visit the Royal Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and former residence of the Bourbon Kings of Naples, also called the ‘Versailles of the Campania region’. Then continue your journey north, passing by the famous Monte Cassino Abbey, founded by St. Benedict of Norcia in 529. Destroyed on four separate occasions, it was last rebuilt after being the site of fierce fighting during the Second World War. Arrive in Rome and enjoy an evening at leisure

    Today begins with the visit to the Vatican Museums and Michelangelo's breathtaking Sistine Chapel. This highly-finished marble sculpture depicts the body of Jesus in the arms of Mary after the Crucifixion and is considered to be among the most compelling of all works of art in the Western world.     Arrive in Barcelona at 10:00 am. Barcelona is considered one of the most artistic and culturally rich cities in Spain. Perhaps stop at Park Guell, one of Barcelona's largest urban parks designed by Gaudi, the famous Catalan architect. Originally planned to be an exclusive area for the richest families of Barcelona's bourgeoisie, it later became a public park. Though the park was never fully completed, it is considered one of Gaudi's most colorful and playful works. Then continue to the Sagrada Familia, Gaudi's unfinished masterpiece and Europe's most unconventional church. Sail for Palma at 10:00 pm
