DAY 1 - Depart the USA

DAY 2 - Arrive in Amsterdam
Welcome to Amsterdam, Holland’s sophisticated and modern capital. Transfer to the port located near the Passenger Terminal for a 4 pm embarkation, and after arrival formalities, rest and relax on board. Tonight, a gala Captain's Welcome Cocktail and Dinner sets the mood for your delightful river cruise

DAY 3 - Morning in Amsterdam, Afternoon in Volendam
This morning enjoy a city tour of Amsterdam, known for its many cultural sites, art museums, entertainment and of course its scenic canals. View the Royal Palace on Dam Square and the Dutch National Monument. Continue to the unusual Skinny Bridge and the bustling Albert Cuyp market. Then, board a glass-top boat and cruise the winding canals for an up-close view of stately historic homes. Return to the ship as it cruises along the Ijsselmeer River to Volendam, a quaint fishing village surrounded by a picture-perfect harbor lined with wooden houses. Perhaps join a leisurely walk through town, where you will have the chance to see Holland's iconic windmills and residents who still wear traditional Dutch clogs, aprons and bonnets. Continue on to a local cheese farm and learn about the process, and lastly you will visit Edam, known for its world-famous cheese. Return to the ship as it sets sail for Arnhem

DAY 4 - Afternoon in Arnhem
Arrive to Arnhem in the early afternoon. Arnhem is known as the Green City on the Rhine, and has long been especially popular with landscape painters. Enjoy the natural beauty of this town. Arnhem is best known for the WWII operation "Market Garden." The British First Airbourne Division was given the task of securing the main bridge in Arnhem in order to help Allied troops advance into Northern Germany. Continue sailing this evening

DAY 5 - Afternoon in Middleburg
Today, arrive in the small and quiet town of Middelburg, formerly a Dutch East India Company trading city, capital of the province of Zeeland. Much of the city was destroyed in 1940, but the major historical buildings have been lovingly restored. The walking tour of the city highlights the beautiful townhouses and city center. Dominating the town square is the late-Gothic town hall, dating back to 1458, considered Middelburg's architectural jewel. Wander and explore independently for the rest of the day. Perhaps, visit the Lange Jan (Long John) Abbey Tower in the center of town. If you’re feeling energetic, climb the 207 steps up to the viewing gallery to see the panorama of the town and surrounding countryside from above. Return to the ship as it sets sail to Ghent in Belgium

DAY 6 - Full Day in Ghent
Spend a full day in Ghent, the fourth largest city in Belgium which has managed to preserve its stature from medieval times while constantly modernizing. St. Bavo's Cathedral houses a wealth of artistic treasures including the celebrated 12-paneled Adoration of the Lamb, painted by the Van Eyck brothers. Take time to enjoy the town center, as the full day is at leisure to discover Ghent on your own

DAY 7 - Full Day in Antwerp
Arrive in Antwerp, one of Europe's largest and most historic port cities, where more than half of the world's diamonds are traded. Evidence of the wealth produced from trade during the 16th century can be seen in the opulent homes that line the city streets. Explore the city at your own pace, perhaps visiting the Cathedral of our Lady, the highest Gothic building in the Low Countries, an iconic treasury with an impressive collection of major art works, including a series of spectacular paintings by Rubens. Walk to the unique market place, surrounded by the mighty Renaissance Town hall and numerous guild halls. This evening, enjoy a captain's gala dinner

DAY 8 - Morning in Kinderdijk
This morning enjoy a brief stop in the little village of Kinderdijk which lies on the north bank of the river Noord between Rotterdam and Dordrecht. There are 19 windmills that were built between 1722 and 1761, and today form the largest park of windmills still in use in the Netherlands. Embark the ship around 10:00 am and arrive in Utrecht around 2:00 pm where you will have the choice to join the optional visit to Keukenhof Gardens. The ship will dock in Amsterdam this evening while you celebrate your final night aboard
