    DAY 3, Wednesday - Warsaw City Tour
    This morning, a tour of Warsaw includes both banks of the Vistula River. Visit Lazienki Park to view Chopin's Monument, then travel along the Royal Route with its historic monuments and residences toward the Warsaw Ghetto and the Jewish Cemetery. Walk through the cobbled streets to the Market Square. View the Cathedral of St. John and the Royal Castle. Balance of the day at leisure

    DAY 4, Thursday - Jasna Gora Monastery
    Travel south to Czestochowa to see the Paulite Monastery at Jasna Gora, a place of devout pilgrimage by Polish Catholics and home to the Black Madonna, a portrait of Our Lady that is said to have miraculous powers. Drive to Krakow, former residence of the Polish kings

    DAY 5, Friday - Krakow City Tour, Auschwitz
    This morning, enjoy a tour of medieval Krakow, including a visit to the 16th century Wawel Royal Castle District. Visit the Jewish Quarter and view Oskar Schindler's factory. Continue to the Old Town and Market Square to view St. Mary's Church and the Renaissance Cloth Hall. This afternoon drive to the town of Oswiecim where the Nazis built Auschwitz, their largest concentration and death camp. It has remained as a state museum to keep evidence of the Nazi terror. A local guide will give an introduction on the subject and show a movie with historic film material showing footage of the Red Army liberating the camp in 1945. The visit includes a guided tour of the Auschwitz Concentration Camp Museum and a stop at the former Birkenau Extermination Camp

    DAY 7, Sunday - Budapest City Tour, Embarkation
    This morning enjoy time at leisure in Budapest. In the afternoon, your city tour begins in Pest with a chance to view the Parliament, Royal Palace and Heroes' Square. Cross the Danube over the Elizabeth Bridge to the Buda Hills. Visit Mount Gellert, then continue to Castle Hill to see the 13th century Matthias Coronation Church. From Fishermen's Bastion, enjoy a panoramic view of the city. The tour will end at the ship for embarkation. Tonight, enjoy a gala welcome dinner on board as you set sail from Budapest at 10 pm

Later, enjoy a guided tour of the historic Benedictine Abbey in Melk, considered one of the finest examples of Baroque architecture in Europe. On the tour you will have the opportunity to view the abbot's chambers, the Kaiser's walk and the library. Depart this evening just before dinner

    DAY 11, Thursday - Afternoon in Passau
    This morning the ship will make a brief technical stop to drop off passengers joining the optional tour to Salzburg. The ship will continue sailing, and arrive to Passau this afternoon where remaining guests will have the opportunity to explore the city independently. Most well known for St. Stephen's Cathedral and its historic Altstatd, or Old City district, the city boasts many fine examples of Baroque and Gothic architecture. In the early evening, all passengers will rejoin the ship and set sail for Regensburg just before dinner

    Disembark this morning and head for the fairytale town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber, on Germany’s famed Romantic Road. The town, left unscarred by centuries of war, still remains largely as it was in the 15th century, with walls and ramparts, as well as pretty cobbled streets and charming shops. A short drive brings you to Wurzburg on the River Main. There will be time to enjoy this baroque town and view the Bishop's Palace and the impressive castle

    DAY 15, Monday - Heidelberg, Rhine River Cruise*
    Today we will visit Heidelberg, Germany’s oldest university town and visit the dramatic castle ruins with sweeping views across the Neckar River valley. See the student’s jail, cathedral and then wander the old town in search of gifts. Continue to the mighty Rhine River where we will enjoy a scenic river cruise passing the imposing Pfalz Castle and the fabled Lorelei Rock. Continue past the pretty villages scattered along the banks of the river and arrive to Koblenz

    DAY 16, Tuesday - Mosel River Valley
    Today we take a leisurely excursion along the Mosel River Valley into the towns of Cochem and Bernkastel. Return to Koblenz and make a stop at the Deutsches Eck, where the Mosel joins the Rhine

    DAY 17, Wednesday - Cologne City Tour
    Heading north after breakfast, we pass the town of Bonn, birthplace of Beethoven, to reach the city of Cologne with its twin spire cathedral visible for miles. Building of the church began in the 13th century and took 600 years to complete. We will continue into Holland and arrive to lively Amsterdam

    DAY 18, Thursday - Full Day in Amsterdam
    Our sightseeing this morning includes an hour long cruise in a glass topped boat along the canals with its curious humped bridges and tall gabled houses reflecting the 17th golden age of this trading city. View the Dam Square, Royal Palace and the Tower of Tears. This afternoon, either visit one of the countless museums such as the Rijksmuseum, with Rembrandt’s Nightwatch painting or the Van Gogh collection, or take our optional excursion to the peaceful villages on the Zuider Zee such as Volendam with its wooden houses, windmills and cheese farm
