DAY 3, Wednesday - Warsaw City Tour
This morning, a tour of Warsaw includes both banks of the Vistula River. Visit Lazienki Park to view Chopin's Monument, then travel along the Royal Route with its historic monuments and residences toward the Warsaw Ghetto. Walk through the cobbled streets to the Market Square. View the Cathedral of St. John and the Royal Castle. Balance of the day at leisure

DAY 4, Thursday - Jasna Gora Monastery
Travel south to Czestochowa to see the Paulite Monastery at Jasna Gora, a place of devout pilgrimage by Polish Catholics and home to the Black Madonna, a portrait of Our Lady that is said to have miraculous powers. Drive to Krakow, former residence of the Polish kings

DAY 5, Friday - Krakow City Tour, Auschwitz
This morning, enjoy a tour of medieval Krakow, including a visit to the 16th century Wawel Royal Castle District. Visit the Jewish Quarter and view Oskar Schindler's factory. Continue to the Old Town and Market Square to view St. Mary's Church and the Renaissance Cloth Hall. This afternoon drive to the town of Oswiecim where the Nazis built Auschwitz, their largest concentration and death camp. It has remained as a state museum to keep evidence of the Nazi terror. A local guide will give an introduction on the subject and show a movie with historic film material showing footage of the Red Army liberating the camp in 1945. The visit includes a guided tour of the Auschwitz Concentration Camp Museum and a stop at the former Birkenau Extermination Camp

DAY 6, Saturday - Scenic Drive to Budapest
Today drive through the scenic Tatra Mountains and the wooded countryside of Slovakia before reaching the Danube Valley and the twin cities of Buda and Pest

DAY 7, Sunday - Budapest City Tour, Embarkation
This morning enjoy time at leisure in Budapest. In the afternoon, your city tour begins in Pest with a chance to view the Parliament, Royal Palace and Heroes' Square. Cross the Danube over the Elizabeth Bridge to the Buda Hills. Visit Mount Gellert, then continue to Castle Hill to see the 13th century Matthias Coronation Church. From Fishermen's Bastion, enjoy a panoramic view of the city. The tour will end at the ship for embarkation. Tonight, enjoy a gala welcome dinner on board

Walk through the historic town center, characterized by its Gothic-Baroque architecture, and view such sites as St. Martin’s Cathedral, the Town Hall and the Franciscan church, which dates to the 13th century. DAY 11, Thursday - Melk Abbey
This morning arrive in Durnstein, and enjoy free time to stroll this quintessential village in the heart of the Wachau wine district. Later, enjoy a guided tour of the historic Benedictine Abbey in Melk, considered one of the finest examples of Baroque architecture in Europe. On the tour you will have the opportunity to view the abbot's chambers, the Kaiser's walk and the library. Depart this evening just before dinner

DAY 12, Friday - Daylight Sailing

DAY 13, Saturday - Passau & Regensburg City Tours
This morning join a walking tour of Passau. Most well known for St. Stephen's Cathedral and its historic Altstatd, or Old City district, the city boasts many fine examples of Baroque and Gothic architecture. Return to the ship for lunch before departing by coach for Regensburg. This historic city was built by the Romans in 179 BC and today stand proudly as one of the largest and most well preserved cities in Bavaria. The tour includes such sights as the Old Town Hall, the Dom St. Peter, the Roman Gates at Porta Pretoria, and one of the oldest stone bridges over the Danube. This evening return to the ship in Passau and bid farewell to your traveling companions at the Captain's farewell dinner

    Wilanow Palace

    This former summer residence of the Polish kings is situated just outside of Warsaw. Our tour of the palace makes Polish history come alive. Wilanov was built at the end of the 17th century for King Jan III Sobiesky. It stands for the splendor of Poland in the past and is considered one of the most important monuments of Polish culture.

    Wieliczka Salt Mine

    Legend has it that the salt mines in Wieliczka were part of a dowry from Kinga, the Hungarian princess, when she wed Boleslaw the Shy over 700 years ago, making the Wieliczka Salt Mine one of the oldest in Europe. The mine's historical importance, as well as the amazing works of art carved into the walls by miners, have earned the Wieliczka Salt Mine a place on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list. The tour will be conducted with a group on a route that takes you through three levels of underground galleries and chambers.

    Passengers returning from Munich on Day 14 should select flights that depart no earlier than 11:00 am. The Munich airport is approximately a 2 hour drive from the Passau port.
