    DAY 1, Saturday - Depart the USA
    Depart the USA for Britain. Your flight includes meals, drinks, and in-flight entertainment for the journey

    DAY 2, Sunday - Arrive in London
    Arrive and transfer to your hotel. The balance of the day is at leisure. This evening, enjoy a welcome drink and orientation

    DAY 3, Monday - London City Tour
    Today, discover the history, pageantry and sights of the city with a half day tour of London’s West End. Begin with a drive through fashionable Kensington with its elegant squares and parks. Pass Harrods store and continue to view Piccadilly and Trafalgar Square, Westminster Abbey, Houses of Parliament and the famous Big Ben. Continue to Buckingham Palace to witness the pomp and pageantry of the Changing of the Guard (when held). Afternoon at leisure to enjoy a traditional pub lunch and maybe join our in-depth optional tour of St. Paul's cathedral and the Tower of London

    DAY 4, Tuesday - Stonehenge, Bath
    Today, depart London and head to the circles of Stonehenge. Located in the middle of Salisbury Plain, Stonehenge is unique among stone circles and its construction still defies belief. The first stone was placed here 5000 years ago and the structure was finally completed 1400 years later. Continue to Bath's Georgian Crescents to find elegant stone buildings with terraces, crescents, and graceful squares. Visit the original 2000-year-old Roman Baths and Georgian Pump Room with its natural mineral water

    DAY 5, Wednesday - Cotswolds, Stratford, Chester, Liverpool
    Drive north today into the Heart of England through the villages of the Cotswolds, with its stone and thatch cottages, to the birthplace of Shakespeare, Stratford, a charming market town. View Anne Hathaway's cottage, the school that William Shakespeare attended, and Shakespeare's birthplace . Enjoy time at leisure in this historic town, where the Bard's plays are still performed by the Royal Shakespeare Company. Continue for an orientation tour of Chester which highlights the Cathedral, half timbered Tudor buildings and the arcaded 'Rows.' Continue on to Liverpool, situated on the River Mersey and birthplace of the Beatles

    DAY 6, Thursday - Lake District, Moffat, Edinburgh
    Today, we drive through the delightful green hills of the Lake District and travel along the shores of Lake Windermere, the largest natural lake in England. Enjoy beautiful views of the lake and surrounding area as we continue to Wordsworth’s beloved Grasmere before crossing into Scotland near Gretna Green, where runaway couples eloped in days of old. We pass Moffat, known for its high quality woolens on the way into Edinburgh. Tonight, perhaps you might opt for an evening of traditional Scottish entertainment

    DAY 7, Friday - Edinburgh City Tour
    This morning, join a local guide for a city tour of historic Edinburgh. The route will take you past the Scottish Parliament, Holyrood Palace, the Museum of Scotland, the Royal Mile, and Princes Street. Also included is a visit to Edinburgh Castle, where you can see The Crown Room, Royal Palace, St. Margaret's Chapel, and much more! The balance of the day is at leisure

    DAY 8, Saturday - St. Andrews, Glamis Castle En Route to Inverness
    After breakfast, begin a day of sightseeing with a visit to the area of St. Andrews. Take time to view the ruins of the Castle and Cathedral, stroll through the University or visit the Golf Museum. Continue to a very different historical site, Glamis Castle, to visit a well preserved example of an ancient Scottish castle. The castle has literary connections to Shakespeare's Macbeth and despite local legends of mysterious monsters and ghosts is still home to the Lyon family. Next, enjoy the passing views as the tour heads farther north into the Scottish Highlands and through the mountainous Cairngorms National Park before arriving in Inverness

    DAY 9, Sunday - Culloden Moor Battlefield
    Spend the morning just east of Inverness at the site of the famous Culloden Battlefield in 1746 between the Jacobite forces and the British army. The battle marked the decisive collapse of the Jacobite uprising and the beginning of the integration of the Highlands into the British Kingdom. A visitor's center has been built to help in the preservation of the battlefield and immerse visitors into the time and attitude of the battle through films and exhibitions. After, return to Inverness and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure

    DAY 10, Monday - Loch Ness, Isle of Skye En Route to Fort William
    Today drive to the most notorious site in all of Scotland - Loch Ness. There will be time to take pictures and try to spot the elusive Nessie in the largest lake in Scotland. The tour continues its exploration of the Highlands up into the Isle of Skye, passing Eilean Donan Castle and crossing Skye Bridge. Drive through the lush countryside to the Clan Donald Museum of the Isles before returning to the mainland via the Armadale/Mallaig ferry. Arrive in Fort William in the late afternoon and enjoy dinner at the hotel

    DAY 11, Tuesday - Ben Nevis Distillery Tour
    This morning enjoy a tour of the Ben Nevis Distillery and see how whisky is distilled. The Distillery is among the oldest in Scotland, dating back to the early 1800's and has a visitor center where you will encounter the legendary giant Hector McDram. Learn the differences between single and vatted malts and try to distinguish the hundreds of varieties of Scotch whiskies on a guided tour of the production areas with a complementary tasting. Later, return to Fort Williams and spend the balance of the day at leisure

    DAY 12, Wednesday - Loch Lomond Cruise, Stirling Castle En Route to Glasgow
    Head south this morning passed the beautiful area around the town of Glencoe, the site of the infamous Massacre of Glencoe. Continue towards Loch Lomond and enjoy a cruise on the lake, taking in the views of the surrounding Trossachs National Park. Next, visit Stirling Castle, one of the largest and important in Scotland. Explore the Royal Palace, the Royal Chapel, the Great Hall, the Great Kitchen and more as you are transported back into the height of Scottish art and culture in the 16th century. Continue onto Glasgow and enjoy an orientation tour of Scotland's largest city

    Tower of London & St. Paul's Cathedral This afternoon we focus on two of the most impressive monuments within London's original "Square Mile". Visit the Tower of London, a former fortress and Royal Palace that has witnessed 1000 years of history most notoriously as a prison. Now the Crown Jewels are kept here and we will have a viewing of these, as well as seeing the iconic Tower Bridge. Continue to St. Paul's Cathedral, where Charles married Diana in 1981. Admire the architecture of Sir Christopher Wren's Dome, a masterpiece, which is the landmark of London's skyline.

We will have time to explore the village before enjoying a delicious dinner at an historic local Inn.
