    DAY 1 - Depart the USA
    Depart the USA for Germany. Your flight includes meals, drinks, and in-flight entertainment for your journey

    DAY 2 - Arrive in Frankfurt
    Arrive in Frankfurt and pick up your rental car. Enjoy the balance of the day at leisure
    Drive Time: 45 minutes*
    Distance: 30 miles*
    Overnight: Mainz
    Meals: Breakfast

    DAY 3 - Visit Wiesbaden
    Spend the morning at leisure in Mainz or take time to explore the city where Johannes Gutenberg invented the printing press. A major attraction in the city is the Gutenberg Museum where you can view a recreation of the original printing press as well as the original Gutenberg Bible and other medieval manuscripts. There is even the opportunity to try your hand at the revolutionary machine housed at the museum. In the afternoon take a short drive north across the Rhine river to the town of Wiesbaden. The town is known for its natural hot mineral springs, which the Romans took advantage of in the 1st century AD with their famous bathhouses

    DAY 4 - Worms and Heidelberg En Route to Nuremberg
    Depart from Mainz today and drive through the surrounding area acclaimed for their wineries and breweries. On route stop in Worms which is one of Germany's oldest cities despite being nearly destroyed during WWII. The city has seen conquerors and empires come and go and has no shortage of local stories and legends. The mix of cultures in this ancient town has left many elegant buildings and beautifully designed churches of various time periods to enjoy. Continue the drive through the university town of Heidelberg with a rich literary history. Heidelberg is one of the most visited cities in all of Germany and is known for its baroque towers and red sandstone castle

    DAY 5 - Full Day in Nuremberg
    Enjoy a full day in Nuremberg, the second largest city in Bavaria and the principal city in Franconia. The city has a long and rich history and has outlasted emperors and wars and has become a leading cultural city with its State Theater and many museums and memorials. Nestled in a picturesque area of Germany the surrounding countryside is just as beautiful to explore as the Hauptmarkt, the central market square. Nuremberg is also home to some iconic German foods such as Lebkuchen, a kind of gingerbread, and Nurnberger Bratwurst, a cousin to the traditional bratwurst

    DAY 6 - Inglostadt En Route to Munich
    Inglostadt is a smaller city located almost directly between Nuremberg and Munich however it has a big reputation. The city itself was once a fortress city and still maintains in ancient wall along with other impressive architecture as well as being one of the ducal residency cities. However, the main draws to the city are its connections to the Illuminati, as the founding city for the secret order, and Frankenstein, where the old university acted as the setting for the famous laboratory. Another draw to the city is the Audi factory and museum. After exploring the city's various attractions continue south to Munich

    DAY 7 - Hohenshwangau and Neuschwanstein Castles
    Munich is a slight detour off of the Romantic Road but hop back on the road and spend a half-day driving to Hohenshwangau and Neuschwanstein castles and be swept up in a fairy tale. The two castles are only about half a mile from each other near the towns of Schwangau and Fussen. Hohenshwangau Castle was built first in neo-Gothic style and is said to be the inspiration for Neuschwanstein Castle which has become one of Germany's most recognizable structures. After a morning of fantasy return to Munich for the remainder of your trip. There is plenty to explore in Munich from city center to the other neighborhoods that make up the city. From outdoor markets to museums and palaces to the botanical gardens to the famous landmark of Church Frauenkirche and its twin spires there is certainly enough to entertain before the trip home
